Day 1
Welcome Dinner (PM)
This event will take place during golden hour in an indoor/outdoor concept space. Ladies, this is your chance to whip up a dreamy tropical cocktail dress. Tropical colours and prints very welcome. Men, some chinos and a stylish top will work wonderfully. Bonus points if you can find a cool patterned shirt. We’ll have a beautiful view of the ocean and sunset, so get ready for some epic photos!
Day 2
Henna / Mehendi (AM)
This event will take place by the pool during the late-morning sun, so it’ll likely be hot. Wear something stylish yet light and breezy. You’ll probably be moving around and having your hands adorned with henna, which can get messy till it dries (approximately 30 mins). Comfortable footwear is suggested.
Sangeet (PM)
This event will take place in an air conditioned indoor banquet hall. It’s a proper formal Indian event. Go for the dark and shimmery pieces in your wardrobe. For our non-Indian friends we recommend choosing a lehenga as it’s easier to manage while dancing. It will be a night full of dancing so if you’re wearing heels underneath, opt for wedges so you can painlessly dance the night away.
Day 3
Baraat (PM)
This short event will take place in the late-afternoon sun. Whatever you wear at the baraat you’ll wear into the wedding and reception.
Wedding and Reception (PM)
Only one outfit please! No need to change. Your outfit will take you through sunset and into the evening. We’re suggesting pretty pastels in all hues of pink, blue and green. Think Barbie core. Once again this will be an Indian formal event.
In General
SXM is a wonderfully balanced island with European style and Caribbean chill. While you’re not at wedding events we suggest packing effortlessly chic resort wear as well as more relaxed lounge and beach wear. These key pieces can be mixed and matched to have you ready for every occasion the trip calls for!
